Introduce A Weight Loss Video To Your Weight Loss Plan

Some people feel self conscious when they work out at a gym--or simply do not enjoy running, walking or bicycling in their neighborhoods. If you would prefer to exercise in the comfort of your own home and not have an audience, then a weight loss video is for you.

In choosing a weight loss video that is appropriate for you, consider how much weight you need to lose, how many pounds you want to lose per week, and how much time you have to devote to exercise. Be realistic and honest with yourself!

You then need to choose the weight loss video or DVD that is right for you. Be aware that there are plenty of videos that say that they are suitable for beginners when in fact they are too complicated. If you are not a beginner, then the search for the right video is simple, but if you aren't, then it can be more difficult.

Of course, you will need to do your research. One option is to check fitness websites to find out what their recommendations are for novices. Another option is to read reviews in a variety of fitness magazines. 

Fitness magazines are a wealth of information. Read the reviews from fitness pros. These individuals know what they are talking about. They review workouts on a regular basis and assess them based on their level of safety and also based on skill levels.

The Internet also has lots of reviews on weight loss videos for you to peruse. Search around to read as many reviews as possible. Did the people who used the videos love it or not? Did they Lose Weight or not? How much weight did they lose? How long did it take for them to lose the weight?

The longer customer reviews are, the more beneficial they will be to you. Be aware however that not every review may be 100% accurate. The more you read the better all around idea you will get about the videos or DVDs in question.

It is extremely important that you are honest about your present fitness and skill level. If you have been living a sedentary life for quite some time, then you run the risk of hurting yourself if you jump right into working out to an advanced video.

On the other hand, do not assume that because you are skilled at one form of exercise that this automatically means that you will be skilled at another. For example, just because you have been running for many years does not mean that you will be as equally proficient at aerobics or yoga.

It is always best to start with an introductory video that matches where you are in your fitness level today. It is also wise to heed the warnings that all weight loss videos mention on the book and at the start of the video. The guideline states "Check with your doctor before beginning this or any other exercise program." Being safe is always better than being sorry.

Even if you are a healthy person this is important advice! Those who have a history of health problems or conditions such as high Blood Pressure or diabetics; should never start to work out to a weight loss video before checking with their doctor first.

Hi i didnt keep this product as it was not what i wanted orderd the wrong thing .. So i sent it back

Like everyone else has said the description is completely misleading regarding the DVD! I really wish that I had read the reviews before purchasing this! The book tells me nothing new and the Zumba diet is just common sense and healthy eating!

I foolishly did not read the reviews before buying this. Like the other reviews, I expected far more of the DVD. I was hoping to be shown some basic steps on the DVD leading into a short workout. This was a complete let-down. The basic steps shown were extremely short and I know nothing more about Zumba than I did before I watched it.

I primarily bought the book for the DVD, hoping it would show all the moves.Unfortunately the quality of the DVD is poor and there are no real exercise programs, which is why I bought it in the first place, i.e. that is probably only 5 minutes of the DVD is demonstration, the remainder is Zumba music. Hence that is a dissappointment. The book however is very good en gives a lot of background about Zumba.

Like the other reviewers, I was extremely disappointed with this and wish I had seen the reviews before I purchased this. The book is not even worth a read, you cannot learn the steps from it and the DEMO DVD has very little instruction and only shows 4 steps. AVOID THIS BOOK it is a waste of money. DO NOT BUY!!

I love this dvd for the following reasons: It is only 38 minutes long, so I do not have to dedicate a full hour to working out; It is fairly challenging in parts, but not so hard that it puts you off (you can also make it less or more challenging by altering the intensity of the plies etc); It is incredibly easy to follow. Most of the workout is focussed on the lower body and abs. There is little in the way of upper body work and certainly nothing for the chest and lats. The cardio element will not be sufficient for someone who wants a cardio based workout. This is really for those people wanting to tone and strengthen their legs, bums and abs. One reviewer said half the dvd is Yoga. Well I do Yoga and Pilates classes and there is little in this dvd that I would call Yoga. Several people complained that the dvd is difficult to follow - I dont rate their chances at ever following a workout dvd if they cant do this very straightforward workout. Somebody complained that the instructor is irritating. Well yes, some people might find that (I have lost count of the number of times she says "Go ahead"), but I dont mind her, white toothy smile and all!

A great and easy introduction to pilates, I was pleasantly surprised because did not expect this high quality for the price. I bought it because I wanted to do it when I feel like doing it, not because there happens to be a class at 10pm on Tuesday. Pilates is not about competition so I felt at ease trying to copy the moves in a sloppy jogging suit at home without other people looking at me (or thinking they are looking at me). 20 min of standing pilates with good explanation, ample time to view the position and tips are given to make the exercise lighter or more difficult. Before I knew it I was sweating and taking good care to do the breathing stuff right. Got some arm/ leg coordination wrong but that is not the teacher's fault, I started the chapter again and in no time was hopping along again. 15 min of matwork, which I found a bit more difficult due to the fact that you're on a mat and have to look up at your TV screen to do the exercise the right way... which in a gym would be the same problem as you need to look at your teacher (unless you can afford private sessions). I'm hooked and checking the site now for a more advanced program :) Great, highly recommended for beginners.

Having tried (and failed with) a number of exercise routines over the years I am delighted with this DVD. The exercises are easy to follow and surprisingly energetic! I manage to fit the workout into most days and after 3 weeks I am beginning to see and feel the results. I am not suggesting this is just down to the DVD - I am also watching what I eat and try to do at least 30 minutes of exercise a day - pilates, swimming, walking - and I definitely have more energy and feel more toned. The low price tempted me to try this out and I am very glad I did.

I hadn't tried pilates before so thought this DVD would be a good introduction. It's easy to follow and is short enough to fit into a busy lifestyle. I felt like I'd had a really good workout without jumping around. I've also found it good to relieve stress. The only difficult bit was concentrating on the breathing, but the instructor does frequently remind you when to breathe in and out. After using it for a month I can see more definition in my muscles, my core strength is improved but I haven't lost a significant amount of weight. I do now feel I'm ready to move on to a more advanced workout.

I bought this dvd for a friend after purchasing 1 for myself in May. Apart from the good value for money, it has helped me lose nearly 2 stone in 3 months and improve my posture and muscle strength. The instructor is not at all annoying and the exercises are easy to follow. A fantastic introduction to pilates but can be used by both novice and experienced people. I had never done pilates before and have really enjoyed doing this routine 3 times a week. If you are indecisive about purchasing this dvd, then just go for it. It's excellent value and gives great results.

I bought this mainly on the basis of the reviews and was bitterly disappointed. I have many fitness DVD's (including yoga ones) and this has to rate as one of the worst ones I bought. I am of a high fitness level yet even beginners would struggle to feel or see the benefit from this DVD - if I were you I would buy Karen Voight's Power Yoga or the one from Jillian Michaels. Unless of course you want to fall asleep whilst watching (and following) the DVD.

I did yoga a few years ago and stopped as I became lazy. Have re-started my exercise regime in the last few months, and started with Davina's DVDs alongside jogging. Have been looking to add yoga to keeping fit due to its obvious health and wellbeing benefits. I bought a Kundalini Yoga DVD last month due to the great reviews on Amazon but only did it a couple of times as found it really long and intense (and a bit boring). Bought this Yogalates DVD due to the good reviews here, and have to say, it is a fantastic addition to my fitness regime. I do this DVD a couple of times as week as well as doing Davina's DVDs a couple of times, and together they really work for me! Stopped the jogging as the area I live in has become a bit dangerous as of late... Have lost some weight and a few inches off my waistline, but I also feel fantastic and much more positive generally. The instructer is so easy to follow, and explains everything better than my old yoga instructer did, and the work out is relatively easy to do. I dunno if I'd rely on this soley for keeping fit (hence the 4*) but this form of yogalates has really helped me and I greatly recommend it.

its an Ok workout, a re-hashed version of yoga steps, and the work out for the stomach is really not much of an effort. In fact the one for the legs are still work some effort, but in totality, it does not offer any special benefit. The pace is really slow, and if you some basic yoga, this is not the product for you. In reviews where people say they have lost weight, I think this is the first dvd they ever used to do any kind of physical activity ever. I prefer yoga routines anyday!!

I love this DVD. I've been doing Ashtanga Yoga on an irregular basis for years and now I'm in my thirties I know that I need to keep on top of my fitness and flexiblity. I noticed a difference after the very first time I did this DVD. The results were instant and if you keep doing it the effects become very noticeable. I have had this dvd for two weeks and I've done it about 6 times. My husband says I am noticeably firmer (maybe he's biased!). Louise is great. I find her voice very relaxing and there is no annoying music. If you are a beginner you can follow her daughter Crystal. The exercises are gentle, but you certainly feel like you have done something at the end of it. I would recommend this DVD to anyone, even my 60 year old mother!

A really good value dvd. Yogalates is really good at toning and helping you lose weight. I did this dvd everyday for a week and lost 2lbs in just one week. The only trouble is I get bored easily, so have never stuck to the recommended 3 times a week for a month, but that's because I like variation in my fitness regime. I really recommend this dvd because it got me into yoga seeing as I have never done it before, but as a dancer I found it easy and has improved my flexibility. The abs section is also excellent, and I recommend the relaxation section because it does help you to de-stress and boosts weight loss. I am also considering buying more yogalates dvds, because of their previous good reviews and my experience with this dvd.

I have this dvd on every morning and I have noticed a great difference in my stamina and my co-ordination. My tummy is getting flatter and Im managing to keep up with the dances. This dvd is very easy to follow and each step is broken down for you to follow. A definate must have!! xx

this DVD is for absolute beginners who just want to have soe fun and try something different. This is not really a workout as such. Indead it is very slow. Just very simple moves anybody at any fitness level can do. This is not a proper belly dance intrusction either, if you want to start up bellydance is better to join a class or find a professional instructional DVD. However this workout can tone your muscles, especially legs and tummy.

I thought this was pretty good fun, it centainly made me laugh!! Its for beginners, which is what i am! I did get a little out of breath and its good for a start at belly dancing.

this is DVD for fun, dont expect loose weight or sweat. Realy good for beginners who want start with bellydance, moves are explain nicely, but thats all. This is not work out just fun but good one.

This DVD is a little short and there's not really any cardio. It may be good if you're an absolute beginner to fitness and have never seen any bellydance before but otherwise it is a waste of time. 50 mins punctuated with Dolphina telling you that you're a goddess and other lame things. Apparently being able to clench your butt empowers you... Really not worth buying!
